I've come to a conclusion that the problem causing the blue screen as described in this post: http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=45&topicid=136539  is Intel Rapid Storage Technology.  I had to install this certain driver from the driver disk because I could not find an executable file inside of the folder that would actually run.  So after installing the driver from the driver disk that came with my motherboard I was looking in the driver section of the folder for an executable driver file, I found one, ran it and it only had a way to make a disk, which didn't have much at all.  So I looked in device manager and couldn't find any Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver there.  So, do I need this on my system? and if so how do I update the drivers for this driver.  I am using a Samsung 840 EVO SSD drive as my boot drive and a 2TB Seagate barracuda as a storage drive.  Thanks in advance.  Hope I can sort this issue out.  :)

I'm having a problem with it too, with my samsung 840pro . I constantly get this error in the event log...

Reset to device, \Device\RaidPort1, was issued.

I'm not even using raid. Just a simply AHCI Sata connection to port 0. So, this confuses me.

If I uninstall Intel rst, this message goes away.

So, I'm interested in whether I need RST too.

Yeah, I haven't got that issue, but I meant Rapid Storage Enterprise.  I Apologise.
