Anybody with experience in setting up office 365 outlook with an outlook.co.nz email address?
I'm helping a family member set up their new surface pro 2 and at the same time ween them off an old xtra email address and onto an outlook.co.nz email address. I managed to eventually get Hotmail connector going on his old system and uploaded most of his old email onto his new outlook.co.nz email account. We got him a office 365 subscription and I thought it would be easy to then use outlook to synch up with his outlook.co.nz email. He Has several different folders setup in his outlook.co.nz account and I thought these would all just download themselves to his surface. They did, sort of. The inbox folder did, one other small folder did. And all the other folders showed up in office 365 outlook, but no emails actually came down in all other folders. So I deleted that account from office 365 outlook and tried again. This time some emails from another folder came down. It would say downloading from server, and some of the emails would come into the folder, but then it would just say "awaiting server response" and nothing would happen. I found if I restarted the office 365 outlook software then a few more would come down each time, about 100 or so. So the synching process is taking a LONG time and I'm not sure what's going on, is this normal? I thought using Office 365 in conjunction with a outlook.co.nz email address would have all worked nicely together. Any suggestions?
