Being swapped out for a brand spankers IBM Tablet in a few weeks, seeing as the Compaq is already ageing at 9 months old.

I have a Compaq V5000 AMD Turion at home that doesnt fare too bad either (about the same base score, but sub scores dont hit 4.0). Also a Compaq Sempron 3400+ that scores about 3.6 (not bad for a $400 box).

What is this device you are using here Mauricio?

VIA make a lot of embedded CPUs which I am familiar with in our business, so I'm guessing you are using some sort of Ultra-Mobile PC here?

With a 1GHz CPU and only 1GB of RAM, you are certainly at the very low end of what could be considered a "Vista Capable System" Tongue out

It's a TabletKiosk EO v7110 UMPC. Originally came with Windows XP Tablet PC but it runs Windows Vista - and quite well. I've just finished installing Microsoft Office 2007 Ultimate on this machine.

It's better than a Pocket PC, but a tad bigger. But much smaller than my Acer laptop.

I was sure that you had had a go with photoshop there Mauricio - but it is a real machine. I'm waiting for the photoshopped IBM PC XT entry!

Its an HP / Compaq NC8430 laptop. Its a great machine. No complaints at all, although a HP Health check runs every now and then to tell me to get more RAM!

An interesting thing to note is the subscores across the various machines. For instance, look at the variance in the scores given for almost the same amount of RAM. I'm sure the speed of RAM doesn't vary that much in Vista capable machines.

You would be surprised, the difference between DDR2-667 and DDR2-800 is quite a lot and then some people have cheap generic stuff whereas some blow their money on matched pairs of Corsair DDR2-800 XMS Dominator RAM
