Got an issue with the touch cover on the RT - it's been working fine until today, now the track pad is all over the place, clicking here and there and the pointer jumps all over the screen.

I guess it's gone faulty - is it a regular thing with these touch covers?

Do you open and close it a bit? Certainly there were problems with the early ones splitting, not sure if that problem has been fixed. But the way I see them, is that the plastic on them bends when they are opened and closed, so the wires in them would too,  so I pressume they will eventually break if used long enough. It is a bit of a pity they don't have a metal hinge like the older ipad smart covers.

i can't comment on whether it's a common problem, or not, it's another department that deals with the surface and touch covers.

you can check out the troubleshooting page here - http://www.microsoft.com/surface/en-nz/support/hardware-and-drivers/troubleshoot-surface-keyboards
and there is a link to the service centre, or a contact us link on that page if you need to take it further
