Hello all,

Anyone tried using Manhunt under vista? I've been trying but every time it is closed stating that manhunt.exe has stopped working.

So far I've tried running in XP compatibility mode with administrative rights and also disabling the visual themes - no luck. I've tried doing some searches and am at the point where I might need to just give up on vista and roll back to XP. Strangely it works better on my mac (running XP in bootcamp).

I would have said that it was a direct x game but I can't find much documentation on it.

Might try updating the video card drivers and see how that goes.

If it is crashing as soon as you run the program then it sounds like it doesn't like running on a dual core system.

I had some issues with some games. Google imagecfg and use that to set the game to use only a single core from when it loads. Imagecfg needs to be run from an elevated command prompt.

Came across this topic from the main page, as the name sounded familiar. I read an article last week on the Herald website about the Manhunt 2 game. The link to it is:

http://www.nzherald.co.nz/section/story.cfm?c_id=5&objectid=10447053

Assuming that the Manhunt game you refer to is the same one the Herald refers to, you would probably best not advertise the fact that you own this game, if the comments in the article are to be believed. Check the full article out, but the interesting ones are as follows:

"Our censor banned the original in November '03"

"One of the consequences of the ban is that it is now illegal to possess Manhunt in New Zealand"

"Anyone who possesses this game is liable to a fine of $2,000 (s131)."
