Doesn't matter what browser I use, my downloads start, get a couple of MB done, then stop and fail.

Any reason why this would happen? Regular browsing is fine, downloading through usernet and.....other things is fine. It's just through a browser that sht coks up

Firefox and chrome. Anything over 10mb. Windows 7.

It's not my connection as news leecher is fine as are torrents

that doesn't necessarily rule out your connection completely, especially if it's happening in multiple browsers. Maybe try from a live ubuntu cd or similar?

Try "free download manager", it will retry for you if it stops. That will negate browser issues too.

Everyone else can download stuff fine. Suggest you try another computer on your network. If you're on WiFi, try wired. Report back the results so we can narrow down to your internet connection or computer. Borrow a computer if you have to, this is step 1 in diagnosing the problem.
