Hi

About 3 months ago I bought a 320GB External Harddrive
I have had no problems until just now, I pluged it in turned the power on and the light went on for about 1 second. Then it just went off and now It wont work :( The light on the adapter isnt even on, I have tried to plug it in another wall socket but no luck. When I plug my laptop charger or cellphone into the wall they work with no problems. It has about 230GB of very important stuff on there so I dont want to lose it.

Any Suggestions?

What brand is it?

If the power cord has two parts to it, remove the part that goes from the wall to the power adapter, and replace that cable.

Normally it is a standard IEC cable that your PC will use, if your PC's cable will work then its just a faulty cable.

Brand of external HDD sorry?

Sounds like you need to get a new one, see if you can get the power supply from your new one to work, and then get your own reapired once you have recovered your data.
