Hi,

I have a WD 80 gig drive in a USB enclosure connected via USB

Set the Jumpers to slave, USB pings to detect new hardware , but windows cannot detect the drive anywhere to allow
to format the drive ??

I have checked and also run -> diskmgmt.msc

and only show's my main laptop drive ,

When I go into into computer management , and disc drives it once again only shows my main drive ?
Same again in disk management ..

I have re-booted and turned off the power source to the drive then rebooted laptop fully then repowered external case/ drive

Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

Thanks

Smile

Have you tried a different USB port?

Why have you set the jumpers to slave? Does your case require that you do this?

Have you tried plugging in the drive before turning on the laptop?

Does this drive and enclosure work on another PC?
