Obviously they would be between Windows Vs Linux or Vista Vs Xp

1) Article 1
2) Article 2

I dont understand the need for writing this. Either they should explain fully what devices didnt work , whether they did some updates or something like that. Just putting information like
"network adapter didnt work", "half of my gadgets didnt work" - can one make anything out of it ?

Or is their intent is to just bash Embarassed

No operting system is perfect. And if these people are so good in complaining and whinning, why dont they build their own operating system Sealed

Because some people are fool. The first link says:

PushToTest is setting up a new test lab to check builds of TestMaker. We bought Toshiba Satellite (A216) laptops for the lab. We tried installing Windows XP over the pre-installed Windows Vista. Toshiba does not provide XP device drivers for the laptop and they actively discouraged me in doing so in a support call.

In the end I found no way to get the network adaptor to function under Windows XP and had to reinstall Vista.

I shake my head at this Windows foolishness!

This is obviously a device manufacturer problem, not Windows. This guys should complain about Toshiba, not about Windows.

But he probably needs to write to his audience, so what can we expect?

From the Herald:

Since then, Microsoft has released an upgrade for Vista - Service Pack 1

Really? The herald really scooped this one, I bet Microsoft aren't even aware they have released SP1. This rates up there with Wireless CDMA (TM)

They've released a beta.

I know this, I've been using it for a long time. But it is months away from release date. To say Microsoft have already released SP1 is just confusing to the general public. There was once an article that annouced Telecom were going to upgrade from to CDMA to Wireless CDMA (because CDMA uses cans with string), this was cause for much mirth and mockery on Geekzone.

All this kind of shoddy reporting does is reinforce the lack of knowledge in the reporting of the technology sector. The traditional mainstream media have shown time and time again they cannot get it right. Geekzone is now much more mainstream than the likes of The Herald and co. Just check out the Nielsen rankings.
