Joy.... last weekend, I performed a Windows Update (Windows 7 Home), and after they installed, my system was dead - couldnt boot into Windows at all (inc safe mode etc). Only thing I had changed hardware wise was I had added a webcam the day before and I saw a new driver come through for that. So figured thats what caused the issue.... tried repairing Windows etc but no go.
Unfortunately I'm one of those guys who dosent usually have System Restore enabled.... so I was stuck - backed up the C drive, started afresh.
All been good until last night..... more updates came through and *bang*, exact same issue. No camera plugged in at all during this install so obviously wasnt a driver fault.
On power up, system just goes into a loop of rebooting or going to the repair screen which fails each time. Thankfully this time I left System Restore enabled so tonight when I get home I should be able to roll back before the issue.
But has anyone else had this in the last round of updates ? Be interested to know if common problem and which update is causing it....
Im going to turn off updates and wait for Win 10 to be released going forward and hope the update causing the issue dosent cause me any headaches in getting Win10 ;)
