Hi All,
I've got a Windows 7 desktop PC at home that won't automatically enter sleep mode.

I've had this problem for a little while now, and a while back disabled the Keyboard and Mouse sleep functions, but still the thing won't sleep.

It's not really a biggie during the week, as the PC will go on, then I'll shut it down each night, but over the weekends it tends to go on on a Friday night, then off on a Sunday night.

The only changes to the machine recently, was the addition of a WD external TB HDD, and I installed the monitoring\apps\software for that.

Is there an easy\simply\straightforward way to reset the sleep setting back to factory without doing a rebuild?

Have a look in Device Manager at the properties of the network card, specifically at the Power Management tab. You may have it set to Wake on LAN or similar.

Hope that helps

You didn't spill coffee on it by any chance?  Boom.
