Hi all,

has anyone else here updated their Bootcamp partition from Windows 7/8/8.1 to 10 yet?
I got the update today and it ran smoothly, installed all bootcamp updates on the windows side too.

However, I seem to have a few bugs. I haven't received the Bootcamp 6 update on OS X yet, so I think it may be related but I'm not sure how I can force it to update.

Basically I get the following issues:

  • No keyboard backlight at all (works on OS X)
  • When changing volume using the volume key, the little popup won't fade out like it usually would
  • Right click seems to be VERY delayed, like a good 10 seconds before registering on the screen

I never had these issues when running Windows 7 Professional so I guess this is the perfect example of "if it aint broke don't fix it".

Right now I'm going to install Parallels and see what the performance is like. Its absolutely abysmal on my iMac, but I'm hoping the SSD in my MacBook Pro will improve that.

If this doesn't work out is it possible to roll back to Windows 7 without doing a full reinstall? I don't mind reinstalling it'll just be much easier obviously if I can rollback somehow.

Any help or ideas would be much appreciated
And if Microsoft is listening, could you pleaseeeeee make Visio and Project for Mac :P It's the only reason I need Windows haha

If you are running Yosemite then you should be able to get the latest version of Bootcamp as of 2 days ago. If you are running a previous version of OSX then it looks like you are SOL.

Definitely Yosemite. Had an update to 10.10.5 (?) the other day I think.

Opening Bootcamp Assistant and going to About, it says version is Version 5.1.4 (500)

All I can suggest is checking the App store for an upgrade to v6.

You upgrade bootcamp from the windows partition. Check the start menu for the Apple Updates tool (the same one you can use for iTunes/iCloud etc). W10 works perfectly on my Late 2013 rbmp 15, everything bar the Bluetooth was working even before the bootcamp upgrade.
