Used Microsoft Live Family Safety under Windows 7 and 8 to manage what Bella could do in our laptops, under her own account.

Now with Windows 10 they have changed it so that the kids need an Outlook account (with all that entails - DANGER WILL ROBINSON!) and the account holder needs to confirm before I can manage her laptop account.

Done that but haven't seen the invite email in her account, and that's been almost an hour now.

Has anyone successfully added parental management to Windows 10?

Yes, I've got it up and running. I did however have the invitation email come through within 5 minutes. I am disappointed with it so far, they have removed the logon time picker and replaced it with start time and end time and number of hours per day. So the scenario of allowing 6:30-9am and 4-6:30pm is not longer an option. Also missing is the 'Get more time' option which was a great feature for rewarding good behavior. Also if you have no internet due to going on holiday you are out of luck for extending the time limits. My daughter has never used email so is unaware of the change, but the option to disable the mail app is a way to minimize the risk I guess. My issue with this is now I have had to commit her to an email address which she will increasingly likely be stuck with for many years potentially; -app store purchases, saved games, etc.

I had a 'kids' local account on Win8. For 10, I created a kids@mydomain MS account tied to the same email address. This is just an alias that comes through to my main account, so I can verify the Family Safety emails etc. Added bonus of now syncing their files to OneDrive, which I hadn't bothered with before. No plans to purchase apps etc, so I see this purely as a temporary system until such time as they each have a 'permanent' account.

Ok, got sick of waiting, no email arrived neither for Bella or her mum (to join the family), so I just went with Norton Family Protection - Android, Windows, everything managed in one package.

If things don't work, I am not the one mucking around. It seems you get what you pay for.
