Hello, I'm working in a salon, and our computer isn't working! Frustrated, ever since the update it isn't letting me login, the computer takes me to the login screen where it lets me choose which user, clicked the one I want and it goes black and goes back to the login screen and not to the password screen. I have an Acer 2 in one computer, if anyone knows what to do that would be great thanks heaps! I rung Acer and said only thing to do is factory reset, and I am sure we can do something else before a factory reset.

Lots of reports of KB3097877 causing issues with user logins (and Outlook crashes).  If you can't access this machine remotely, booting into Safe Mode should let you get in to remove this update.

When you uninstall the update does he behaviour revert to it's previous state?

I have the same issue here with 5 client machines from different places. They are all, all in ones. I can't access safe mode on any of them though :-(

If you're having the problem indicated above (can't log in to Windows), try turning on the computer with the network cable unplugged, then try to log in again and, if successful, just uninstall KB3097877 before shutting down and connecting the cable again.

Reading a few comments that it's affecting computers with touchscreens.

I have tried no network connectivity and same issue. All the all in ones I have are touch screen and I can't see a method of disconnecting it either.

Had another one with the Outlook issue. Was an iMac running Windows 7 no touchscreen. Uninstalling the update fixed Outlook. Seems to me that this is a big problem. I haven't been caught out by a bad MS update for years :(

Thanks everyone, had a friend with an Outlook issue being caused by KB3097877, uninstalling and restarting solved the problem.

I've just had a call from my sister, using an older laptop on Vista with symptoms similar. Hopefully it is as simple as removing the update...

Hello guys

Thanks for your replies, we have managed to sort it out, my boss did it, all she did was click F12 on boot and then did some stuff and then it was back to normal :) And I do know one or 2 things about computers, but I was rushing doing that, I was trying to multitask at the time, which I am not really good at clearly.
