  • What kind of webcam do you have?
  • Is it new?
    - OR -
  • Do you have this problem before?
  • What version of WL Messenger do you and they have?
I don't really know about freezing WL Messenger, though I have a webcam that needs to be ejected and reinserted to be able to broadcast a stream to my friends, or they see absolutely nothing.

Most importantly, are you using the correct drivers for your camera?

Does your camera have a program to take snapshots or movies? Is it working?

Could it be a firewall or router blocking parts of MSN and causing this to crash? Are you both using the same Live Messenger version? Are you both using the latest Live Messenger version?

Does your friend have a camera with Live Messenger plugins that could be crashing?

Many unanswered questions...
