Hi,

I am wanting to put my old desktop pc in the garage and turn it into a WHS but connecting to my xbox360 (has wireless g adapater) and laptop via a wireless network.

1.  Is this possible.
2.  Will I get a fast enough transfer speed under 802.11g I should I move to a 802.11n network (laptop supports this)

The garage is right next door to the lounge where the 360 is and the majority of the time the laptop is.  Also is it possible to set a WHS server to do WoL with a wireless network as I wouldnt want the WHS on at all times (waste of power and all that).

Cheers

If your hardware is wireless capable then it will work of course. But you will find out that wireless LAN is too slow, prone to interference, blocked by walls, etc.

The best thing is to stretch an ethernet cable and use a gigabit network connection. Of course if there's no cable inside the rouse then perhaps having that connected to a wireless router - you get no interference from the garage to the house and the convenience of wireless inside.
