Hi Guys,

I apologise if this has been asked before but my daughters 'HP Envy Spectre XT Ultrabook' has recently started having issues with the touchpad in that it jitters all over the screen, she upgraded to Windows 10 home in November but it has only been an issue recently.  I have tried upgrading the Synaptics drivers with no luck.  Then tried a full windows 10 reset and it seemed to initially be fine again until all the updates came through now its jittering again.

The machine is vanilla the only things I had to do were manually install the sound card drivers and installed Spotify, I'm going to have another look on the weekend but if anyone has any bright ideas I'm listening.

Thanks in Advance.

FYI - Plugging in a Mouse solves the problem.

Hi Guys,

I sorted this over the weekend; turns out the HP site says if you have Windows10 use Windows Update for drivers etc. so it did not show me any driver install options.  After changing the OS to Windows 8.1 I had a list of all the recommended HP drivers for this laptop and after installing all of them the jitter went away. The moral of this story is do not place all your trust in the Windows Update :).
