Hey guys

Running into a bit of a weird problem. I need to have a rule setup for one user to automatically reply to newly received emails and then also forward the emails to an external address.

I have, created a Contact, and setup a rule to respond with a message and forward but this is only a client side rule which requires Outlook to be open.

Does anyone know of a way I can get this setup server side:

1. Auto-send a reply when email received.

2. Forward the newly received email to an external address

Which part is client side only?

Setting an external OOF would be one way of doing #1 for a mailbox

The message template I am sending people when they email.Its a locally stored email template file.

If I do an external Out of Office mail, can I then get the Automatic replies to forward the email and still send the out of office replies?

Wouldn't you do this in exchange itself?
Set that particular email account to forward all emails to the external contact you'll have to create on the exchange server.
On that same screen you can select to have the emails also delivered to the users inbox as normal, which should then do the auto-reply.

Attempted this earlier and didn't work - however.. may have been too impatient. Have set it up and will monitor it today!
