When I bought my SP4, the set up process resulted in me creating a Microsoft account.

I recently subscribed to Office 365 which did not offer the option to use that existing account to do that, so now I have two MS accounts, albeit for different parts of MS!

I don't really need two accounts and it will only result in confusion. Is there any way to have just one MS account?

Ah.

Well, if anyone ever asks me what the best thing about Apple is, now I know!

Just to be clear, you are wanting to merge a business license for Office 365 with a personal account?

I have multiple shared accounts where my Microsoft account is the same as my Office 365 Home account. I also use multiple Microsoft accounts at the same time, e.g. my OneDrive account is different to my user account.

But I have multiple Apple account too, simply because (stupidly) different apps and movies are still offered regionally and thus need different regional accounts to BUY the content I want legally.

Maybe one day we'll have the ideal 'single world digital market' but until then...

I detest using a Microsoft account to login to my PC.

What I do is have local account to log onto my PC, then connect to a Microsoft account if I need to access the Microsoft Store etc..

That overcomes issues with Microsoft assuming you always want to use your login Microsoft account for all Internet access.

Unfortunately, Microsoft has obfuscated the creation of local accounts during Windows installation.

But, you should be able to reset your PC and during the reinstall, create a local account instead of using a Microsoft login.

The important part is when you are asked to use or create a Microsoft account to login... look down the screen.. towards the bottom will be some small, linked text that say something about skipping the Microsoft account step.

From there on, it is is fairly straight forward to create a local account for login.
