still running 8.1 ...new pop up saying last month to get win 10 for free...is this actually true or do they just want me to update...lol...My question is should I upgrade...or stick with what I have and no..have read a lot of pluses and minuses.. any advice..?

just an edit to this post...just clicked on the upgrade window,..it says my pc not compatible/// its a 2015 Toshiba..Satellite.. says Bluetooth not supported or something..so may not upgrade any way?

Are the hardware drivers up to date and UEFI/Bios flashed to the latest version?

That's odd. I had no problem upgrading my 2013 Acer laptop from Win7.

If you've got all the installers for all your apps, I'd recommend going with the option that trashes all apps but keep your data. I found that cleaned off all the Acer bloatware, installed default Win10 drivers & I could clean install current versions of what I really needed.

If you're still getting errors, the community here will likely find a solution.

I had zero issues upgrading my 2008 Asus :) or my 2015 MSI.

 

gonna take the plunge with the desktop in the next month

just checked for new drivers on Bluetooth devices..says both up to date...

Toshiba have an official list of machines that they will support for windows 10 upgrade. If it is not on that list it would pay to find out why. What is your model identifier?

it always said it was upgradable..even on Toshibas website...it says the blutooth is not compatible...which is the reason why still a little lost.. Sattelite p-50 c is the laptop

I'm running 10 on a Toshiba Tecra A7 (centrino duo) circa 2006... I did a fresh install from a windows insider ISO. Used the product key off my old win 7 laptop that I bought a win 8 key for.

Any Windows computer that can run W10 should run W10, unless you have an explicit essential incompatibility say with software that you can't do without.
