Are the hardware drivers up to date and UEFI/Bios flashed to the latest version?

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

That's odd. I had no problem upgrading my 2013 Acer laptop from Win7.

If you've got all the installers for all your apps, I'd recommend going with the option that trashes all apps but keep your data. I found that cleaned off all the Acer bloatware, installed default Win10 drivers & I could clean install current versions of what I really needed.

If you're still getting errors, the community here will likely find a solution.

Toshiba have an official list of machines that they will support for windows 10 upgrade. If it is not on that list it would pay to find out why. What is your model identifier?

I'm running 10 on a Toshiba Tecra A7 (centrino duo) circa 2006... I did a fresh install from a windows insider ISO. Used the product key off my old win 7 laptop that I bought a win 8 key for.

@foxy38  If you add the missing square bracket in front of "img" you get this:

Any Windows computer that can run W10 should run W10, unless you have an explicit essential incompatibility say with software that you can't do without.
