Hi folks,

Here's something for all you networking/infrastructure gurus out there. I have a Win2K3 box at home, connected to DSL. I also have some No-IP domain names set up.

My question is: is it possible for me to set up a temporary mail server on that box? I need it to receive some emails so I can test one part of an app that I host on that machine. The app will eventually be hosted elsewhere but I don't want to deploy it there for testing.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,
Dany.

It should work ok. I use Dyndns for my home server and I run an Exchange Server here. It helps that I have a static IP address, but it shouldn't be a problem for your use.

Thanks for that. I actually tried installing Exchange 2000 (the only version I have access to) on this Win 2K3 Enterprise Edition but apparently it's not supported on this Windows.

Can anyone recommend any other mail servers I can use? Preferably something more lightweight.

Thanks,
D.
