Hi,

Does anyone know a Microsoft phone number where i can actually talk to a person about a blocked account?

The account has not been hacked , Just accessed from Europe and now been closed.

Also if your pc is linked in Windows 10 to your account with the same password are you now locked out of it?

Thanks

Mcdongle

what sort of account is blocked?  a "Microsoft Account" aka outlook.com or Hotmail.com?

try the page here (edit: updated url) https://support.microsoft.com/en-nz/contactus/

enter in "outlook account blocked", "outlook.com" for product, "technical support" for category, and you should see a "Chat" option with quite a low wait time - and you will be connected to a real person on the chat window.  That's the fastest way.

the chat person asked you to fill in a questionnaire... were they asking security questions that you were unable to answer? (like another recovery email address or phone number attached to account)

Hi Regs,

Yes i was asked to fill in the usual questionare which i said i have done numerous times.

Then i was directed to here.

But whatever i  do or say  nobody has an answer its very frustrating.

What we now want to know is when he comes home and tries to log on to windows 10 with his account password will it work?

Cheers Mcdongle.

Do you mean that it's not your account?

Also are you make sure the contact email in the case request isn't the locked account (it happens)?

Sounds like someone was trying to get into someone else's account....and got locked out. Ooops.

I'd presume He'll get locked out .Thats what should happen (?)

** so unplug the pc from the internet , disconnect wifi, so the PC cant check a/c status with MS . He should then at least be a able to get into the PC: setup a 2nd
non live/email based win10 user (just in case) & then set his Win10 a/c to non live/email based (not sure if possible when offline ?,. havnt tried)

I had a lady from microsoft help remotely access my pc and fill out the questions for me i told her it wasnt my account but my sons.

I now think this was a mistake as she knew less than me.

Did this "lady from Microsoft" contact you in first place - as in she called you without you contacting Microsoft first? Or was she started working on this when you contacted her?

Hi Freitasm.

No i found an 0800 number microsoft helpline where i thought i would talk to a Kiwi .. it was press 1 for this 2 for that etc.   ended up talking to a lady called Elle in the Philippines who told me to download an app and she took over. Whilst i was talking on the phone.
