Why do you want to run 64bit?

If you had a good specific reason already, I suspect a delay in startup time would be inconsequential. Being a lappy, its obviously not for addressing large amounts of memory, so that leaves 64bit apps.

What 64bit apps do you want to run, and how much performance gain do you expect to get over the 32bit versions?

You will quickly answer your own question here...

My advice: do NOT run 64bit "just because you can". If you dont have a specific need then its a waste of time, and the many problems you will run into will just have you switching back within a month.

Just my opnion of course.

I never noticed any difference.

You might want to have your keyboard checked too - I've noticed (and fixed) lots of missing "e" in your post.

Remember, when you develop apps with 64 bit, then they would be compatible only with 64 bit machines and will be problematic with 32 bit machines.I use VS 2008 in 32 bit machines and also in my MacBook runnning Vista Business 32 bit and its incredibly fast. I dont think you will have any issues if you are using VS 2008.

Here is the exact thread that will help you Smile
