One of my PCs running Win10 Pro installed the Anniversary update the other day and now I have no Network access. Diagnosing the fault reports problems with the Realtek Network Adaptor driver which Windows is unable to fix. I have the latest driver installed and have tried every suggestion possible I could find online (see link below) but nothing has worked. I tried using a WiFi Adaptor which installed OK and connects to my Modem OK but still no access to my Network because of the Adaptor Driver problem. My other PC uses Windows 10 Home, has the same Network Adaptor onboard and the Anniversary Update has caused no problems at all so I'm guessing the problem lies with Win 10 Pro and I'll probably have to wait for Realtek to release a new Driver? Fortunately I used a cloned HDD to update from Win7 Pro to Win 10 Pro so was able to reinstall the original HDD with Win 7 to get the PC online and working again til I can find a solution. Any suggestions other than dump Win10 Pro and do a clean install of Win 10 instead?

do a rollback to the previous build

 

Also, did you have any 3rd party AV or firewall installed ?

Turned off the 3rd party stuff. Didn't help.

 

Unfortunately rollback would mean I'd have to stop any further updates til the problem is sorted although it does seem the only solution at present. Easier to stick with the Win7 HDD.

What is your NIC called and what driver version?

 

Mine is a Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller and dvr is 10.3.723.2015 dated 23/07/2015.

 

Running fine here on win 10 pro.

Sometimes the latest is not the greatest due to old problems returning and new problems being created.

 

I have seen more than one "latest" device driver package and they can work out differently when you install them, e.g. one from the computer vendor and another from the OEM vendor.

 

I'd always try uninstalling the device driver and reinstalling it again if it doesn't work the first time. Rebooting between actions sometimes helps too.

Same controller as yours but I downloaded and installed the latest driver because the previous version didn't work. Can't remember it's version. Latest one no change and still doesn't work.

Thanks for that. Hadn't thought about trying an older driver. Did try uninstalling and reinstalling with no success. If I get time I'll swap drives again and try an older driver and/or a rollback to previous build. Still got about 28 days to try that.
