(could be more suited to desktop hardware forum - not sure)

As a Xmas present to myself, I decided to update my aging Samsung 22 inch (16:10) monitor to a Dell Ultrasharp 24 inch (16:10).

Since doing so I have noticed a strange issue involving Windows Explorer - if I leave a Windows Explorer window open, and turn off the monitor via the button on the front, when I turn on the monitor again the Windows Explorer window is sitting in the upper left corner of the monitor. If I have a Windows Explorer window minimized to the taskbar, and I turn off/on the monitor, on opening the Windows Explorer window it opens at the upper left corner of the monitor and not where it was originally placed.

The issue has persisted through a Windows 10 upgrade from 1511 to 1607.

Anyone have any thoughts on what could be causing this?
