I was listening to a podcast today and UWP and it's lack of traction was being discussed. There has been lots of noise about UWP but I don't use any store apps and can see no real reason to in the future. Even the Microsoft ones are stripped out not very good versions of x86 apps.

In contrast I use tons of Chrome plugins and extensions for various tasks. To me Chrome looks like a far more complete and attractive ecosystem than UWP. It seems yet another Microsoft platform that has no real reason to exist, particularly with the demise of Windows phone.

Interested in others thoughts.

I think it's a good concept (The calculator app for example is one) but yeah Windows on phones is too dead.
