Does anyone know of a good place to get an ASUS laptop checked out in Dunedin, preferably close to Otago University?

Daughter is having problems with wifi dropping out every couple of minutes or so. She has to turn the laptop off to reconnect each time.

Running Windows 10. Model is X555LA.

Thanks.

Sounds like either a driver or hardware issue.

I'm not a repair shop but happy to take a look for nothing

Thanks for the offer Daniel.

I got her to get rid of Spotify and wifi has been good for nearly an hour. Fingers crossed.

Thanks again.

WiFi started playing up again so talked her through downloading a new WiFi driver from the ASUS site. Luckily the installation went without a hitch.

The new Version 10 driver was older than the Version 3 installed driver, so hopefully Windows update won't roll it back. Maybe I should get her to disable driver updates in Windows Update?

Not a lot of options in Dunedin.

I haven't used them but you could try Computer Mate https://www.cmate.co.nz/

or have a talk with Cello Technologies http://www.cellotech.co.nz/ They sell ASUS and I'm pretty sure they do repairs.
I have never used them for repairs, but I have bought stuff from them and have always gotten reliable advise.

Another post here today mentioned Cello.

The are not too far from uni, so will keep them in mind if I can't solve problems remotely.
