Hello chums and chumesses,

Can anyone point me to a method, script, article, how-to, or application that does automatic password changing for local accounts under Windows 2k/XP/Vista (and mac + linux would be a bonus but not likely).

I am looking for something to use on laptops such that I can set up a support account on them as a guest/limited user with enough priveledge to establish a net connection (in circumstances where LAN/DHCP is not available eg Secure WLAN, datacard, dialup etc) such that HQ techs can log in remotely using something like LogMeIn or similar.

Would want to have the support password change maybe daily or weekly, and have it based on some constant and a variable eg serial number + date. Would then use a tool at HQ to plug the SN in to figure out what the current password should be for that machine, and then theres no worries about the end user having continued access as it would change the next day or week etc (would have to tell the user the current password to get them to log in and a establish net connection).

I was thinking it might be possible to make some script that could be scheduled, unless there is a better way.

Thanks for any hints.

Cheers,
Hamish
