Hi all,
I am at my wits end on this so maybe some clever person out there can help.
I yesterday put together a new desktop system:
E8500 3.16GHz
Asus P5K premium WiFi
4GB OCZ ram
Nvidia 9800GTX
Corsair TX 750W
I installed Vista home premium fine on it.....for about an hour and a half.
Vista updated itself and did a reboot where it then goes to a blue screen right as it finishes the green scrolling bar during bootup.
Since then thats all it will do and goes intoa reset loop.
The blue screen contains a message on a hardware fault with error code: STOP: 0x00000124
I tried booting into safe mode and that gives me the same problem.
As it was a new PC I gave up and formated the HDD and tried to reinstall but booting from the DVD brings me to the exact same screen.
I have removed the sounds card and that had no effect, I have swapped out the RAM so jsut 2 GB is inserted and that made no difference either.
Currently I am resetting the CMOS to see if that rescues it but not holding my breath.
Anything else you can think of that I can try - am a bit upsett as I was so happy that it started up first time and now not so much!
If you think its hardware - any way I can diagnose the correct part to return - guessing motherboard most likley and then graphic s card or processor.
Thanks!
