I understand microsoft edge is a pretty decent web browser. Faster than chrome by the reviews I've read.

But Edge does not have a decent bookmark manager.  When they get one, I might switch.

The company I work for make Edge the only supported browser so I have gotten used to it. Still use Chrome at home just because it has all my password, forms and bookmarks smile

Edge is fine for those who don't use a range of browser extensions and addons, of which Chrome and Firefox still have many more. And in work environments they like it because of its security and policy settings. Still won't ever by my first choice though.

I tried Brave a little while back, but it wasn't quite there at the time. I might try it again.

Edge is fine, as with most Microsoft browsers I still find it to have some compatibility issues with some sites.  I always have a range of browsers installed so I can user a different one if I run into problems.

Like IE, the only thing it's good for is to download Chrome ;-)

I like features, and Edge doesn't have many (any?)

It's pretty darn good on touch devices like Surface.

Being about to write / draw on web pages is pretty handy.

Just going to put it out there, Its not that great from what I have done with it, drawing on pages is cool as Andy said.

Pro tip: only use edge when on battery watching online video. Makes a big difference between Chrome and Firefox.

for bookmark options I prefer firefox where you can add the old menu bar and a toolbar for bookmarks. Nothing else comes close.

I use Edge almost exclusively on my Surface Laptop and its good. I get the odd website that does not behave. I find Chrome hits battery endurance quite a bit so only use it if I have to. I also use Edge on my Note 8 and it is great.

Slightly related - someone mentioned this on a tech forum the other day.

It's a program for both Mac and Windows laptops called TripMode. It's supposed to save on mobile data when using hotspots by aggressively policing incoming and outgoing traffic. You can decide which apps or programs are allowed to connect when you're using mobile data, and set data limits.

The guys who designed it did so because (in the words of one of them) -

One day while commuting to work, I used my entire monthly 1GB mobile data plan in 30 min, without even noticing. I was furious. I had to choose between having no mobile Internet for the rest of the month, shell out about $15 to get 1 extra GB, or pay expensive pay-as-you-go fees for mobile data.“ – David

Seems pretty decent to me. Fast & responsive. No formatting issues on the sites that I browse. Easy 'Settings' options if you don't want to customise too much.

But man, on my machine at least it is a memory hog. With 3-5 tabs open (& my other normal stuff) I'm using 19GB RAM. Changed over / back to Chrome, down to 8.9GB.

Six 4K video streams playing at once (so I can flex my memory efficiency) and five geekzone, one facebook, one instagram, a random page about sid going the allback open at once and my chrome sits at 1.9GB used.

I think we will not experience many Win versions in the future ('til 2025). I guess the next after the Win era will be ChromeOS which is on it's way. Some bigger companies have started the phase-out already.
