Hi all,
Yep, blast from the past here.. I have a Windows 98 machine, picked it up recently as I felt like playing some old games I still had... Duke3D, Shadow Warrior, Blood.. the usual awesome games some of us might remember ;)
Of course, with those games, you had to go into their setup and choose the soundcard.
The technical stuff:
Device Manager - Sound, Video & Games
- Gameport Joystick
- Sound Blaster Pro or compatiabe
- VIA PCI Audio Controller (WMD)
Now, when going into the setup for the game (Duke3D being used, but all three have identical setups), I am choosing Sound Blaster, but no sound is actually working.
I've been chatting to the guy I bought the computer off, and he's trying to help but it's not working. The IRQ and Port is set to the right options, but yeah nothing seems to be working.. i've booted into MS-DOS mode to try the setup that way, and would like some additional help if anyone has a similar setup ;)
Would be great to hear from others with suggestions (aside from using Dosbox) ;)
