If I call 0800 676 334 I hear two clicks and then an automated voice message about the number being unavailable.

I ended up activating via 0800 800 004. Had to speak to a rep. Apparently the automated system is down. How is Microsoft so incompetent that they can't keep their own activation phone system running? Speaking over a  scratchy phone line to a guy in a chaotic call centre is not an efficient way to exchange massive strings of numbers.

Hmm, I need to activate a client's PC via phone, and that 0800 676 334 number is still out of action. Will try the 004 one when I have the patience!

I just called the Linux activation phone line.

Oh, wait, no I didn't.

Yes, because none of the commercial versions of Linux require some form of subscription or activation.. oh wait..
