I've got an old company laptop. I left year ago and found this one. It's still a good spec laptop.

When I turn it on I'm asked to log into the network, how can I delete all this so i can install windows 10 for personal use?

Download the Windows that matches the key (sticker) (ie if you have a Win8.1 pro then download accordingly). Create a bootable usb and use it to wipe the current installation.

Do note that this will wipe all information on the hard drive so as long as you dont need anything blast it away.

You can use the recovery on the laptop, simply Google the brand of the laptop and recovery, example: "Dell recovery" for instructions on how to do it. If the recovery does not work due to it being deleted you can also attempt to use the restore function on windows. You can Google this for instructions as well.

Please note this will delete everything on the laptop.

What do you mean by that ?
How did you "recover the OS"

You may need to wipe it completely & re-install. Be aware this will also remove MS Office

From a recovery partition I guess? Lots of "business" and consumer laptops have those so Jo Bloggs can get themselves out of trouble.

I believe when I do a reinstall of windows, if install Business X specific settings and forces you to log into their network.

In BIOS > Boot Sequence number 1 is Onboard NIC? what's this?

After that its internal HHD, CD, Diskette, USB.

If I try change it, it says unlock setup and requires a password.

Any ideas of how to reset BIOS as well?

You can try access the boot menu after powering on by pressing Esc/F2/F10/F12 (these are common boot menu keys)

Have you tried the age old BIOS password of Syxz (case sensitive) ?

If onboard NIC is first it just means if on the work network someone is trying to run a network installation deployment of an OS it will try that first. failing that, it will go down the list until it finds a bootable device as listed
