My Dad wants his computer to only ask for a password after an hour of inactivity. It might go into sleep mode during that time and wake up, or it may be plugged in and stay on.

Anyone know how to do this? I haven't been able to work it out.

You can disable the requirement of password on coming back from sleep, and then set a blank screensaver with a password required...

Thanks, I'll give that a go when I can remote in to change it :) Other ideas are welcome too, in case I can't get that working (though it sounds simple).

An FYI to the screensaver option, Microsoft deprecated them in Win 10 1709 so this option may stop working in future updates.

Ah ok, so let's not do screensavers thanks. Is there another way to do this?

Deprecated means it still works but will he removed in the future. There is no timeline for that yet...
