Hi
Every SD card I plug in to my PC says it is Write Protected.
I have tried everything I can find on internet to fix this but to no avail.
Can anyone help please?

Can you give more details? Help us help you?
To me it sounds your BIOS is set to "read only" mode.

I have tried 7 different cards and each had the physical lock switch in the unlock position.
My PC is a HP all in one and runs win 10.
I have tried
Diskpart to Clear Write Protection
Check the position of the switch; "up" is unlocked. I've seen at least one type of card with the arrow pointing in the wrong direction!
As mentioned above, are you using an adapter for any of these cards?
I'd have expected to see it listed as a USB storage device rather than PCIx/NVME
I'd be interrogating the driver ID string for the baseline chipset/model and check for later driver (HP downloads may give you indication)
Heaps of HP users complaining the auto upgrade breaks them. And getting the right old ones fixes
Thank you.
I am 72 and that interrogating bit is over my head.
If you get the time can you explain how I do that?
The important bit is ven_xxxx&devxxxx which ID the maker. And what it is
But the official HP site will probably tell the same. Just find the model number of the all in one
I'd uninstall the driver in the Devices list and reinstall it, can be easily done with HP Support Assistant. Let me know if you need help, can do it remotely for you.
Thanks guys.
I did as suggested and ID'd the reader then found a driver update and installed it.
All good now.
😃 Glad to hear you found a solution.
