Hi All
I've had a Okta Agent for awile and all of a sudden Activee sync won't. It connects fine but just keeps on syncing and gets no where. I've disconnected the phone in the option in active sync 4.5 and reset it back up but still no joy.... Any ideas?

Cheers
Snowie

Have you done a soft reset or a hard reset? The later usually solves this kind of problems...

Remember when doing a hard reset to backup anything that is not synchronised to your PC - files that are not in My Documents, and any data that is not synchronised to either Microsoft Outlook or Exchange Server.

Ok, so why the exception now? Did you install a new software firewall?

Other things to consider in the future is the USB power management options in Device Manager, and the option on Windows Mobile to turn of the IP connection and use the old ActiveSync 3.8 connection.

Ummm no i haven't. There is a couple of things that i thought about.Don't know if they are relvant to this problem or not.
The other day i had problems with MSN messenger signing in it would just hang like the Active Sync was doing. I fixed this by installing MSN (can't remember) beta and the problem was fixed...... The real kicker is that MY Wifes other machine had the same problem as well Undecided at the same time....and a mate of mine in out of town?????? I run virus scans as i thought it sounded dodgy and nothing came back. I just peged it as a 'Windows Thing' and didn't take it any further and decided Microsoft woz have a problem at there end. This is around the Active Sync problem. To answer you question i haven't installed any new Firewalls or changed the settings.....Whoo up.... I just remembered that AVG was having issues at connecting to it server for updates as well but it got there in the end. and seem's fine now.
One thing when i run the 'Check connection' wizard in Active Sync it told me i had Zone Alarm installed and that could be a cause......Well i don't ,i even did a search for "zone" and found not much at all.I have installed a few programs of late VB.net express would be about it ,not much realy
This infomation might be all just useless ramblings but file it away in the back of the gray matter as i hate not knowing what went wrong.

Cheers Snow
Thanks for all your help

I wouldn't say the MSN problem is "one of the Microsoft things" seeing that I read about similar problems in our Orcon forum.

Also the AVG server problem was reported today - so in both cases I wouldn't blame your PC, but either the ISP or even our connection to the world... And I wouldn't link these to the ActiveSync problem them.

Perhaps something else...
