For ages I've used MS File History as backup for my C: drive but due to space problems have moved my data files to another drive (H:) on the same computer.

I haven't found a way to include H: drive backup along with the C: drive backup in File History.

Can File History do this? Or is an alternative (free) backup system a better idea?

I've found file history to be rather average (well all the built in backup options since Vista have been pretty hopeless IMO).

Veeam make their 'Agent for Windows' available free - this is worlds ahead of the built in Windows backup, can backup from anywhere and to multiple locations. Works really nicely - I'd recommend giving that a shot.
