Got an update for Windows yesterday. Now it seems that when the screensaver kicks in (well it turns the screen off after 10 min as usual), the screen starts putting these super bright colours up changing every 5ish seconds along with a box crawling about the screen with monitor info like firmware version, backlight on time etc.

Anyone else ? Any thoughts ? Coincidence or connected ?

...otherwise the screen is normal, operates fine after moving mouse around to wake it up. If I reduce the time to 1 minute, does the same thing.

Sounds like a built in advanced saver /no signal screen option on the monitor. I dont thing EDID data shares backlight hours to an OS. So most likely screen itself.

Someone tutu and hit the wrong button?

I'd be checking operation manual or menu for something like anti-burn in protection being activated. Or degauss.

It does sound like some monitor function has activated for some reason, but looking in the monitor manual there's no mention of screensaver or save or anti or burn.

I'll have a look in the on screen menu...

Am hoping its OK now.

Tried shutting down and checking monitor connections were tight. Went to get the mail and when I came back, there it was again.

Booted up and tried this Reset All option thing on the monitor. That seemed to work - when the PC stops sending a signal the monitor now says 'Display Port No Signal' (which it always used to but stopped with this bug) and then turned itself off and it seems to stay blank.

Maybe it something was interfering with that No Signal detection so it didn't actually turn off and put its own screen saver up.

...hope I'm not typing this too soon 😀
