So my Windows now has the new widget that appears on the task bar. I set the weather location to our local area. Right now the task bar shows

and the weather card in the expanded widget

Click the See full forecast button to see this

Also the MSN news feed in Edge has

Where does the 8 deg come from? My weather station says 13 deg, so I can believe 12, but not 8. The widget thing's a bit useless!

So it stayed stuck on 8 deg until just now after re-starting the laptop. Now it shows correctly. I'll see if it updates properly after this.

Now it shows 9 deg while the real temperature is 14. The overnight low was 9, so it seems to be on a downward ratchet. My desktop PC behaves correctly, just the laptop doing this.

Any ideas out there?

Yep. Why would they make the update rate so slow that the data is meaningless? From what I have seen so far this widget displays virtually the same as what you get on an Edge new tab which at least is up to date. I don't see any point to it.
