What's the deal?

If you buy the downlodable version does it inlcude an ISO of the Live CD/boot CD thing? I was going to buy this software a while ago but I only really want the ability to clone a HHD without booting into Windows (same as I used to use Ghost for).

Hello,

see http://www.acronis.com/promo/fever/   down to $27.99 geting cheaper!

I presume its like the trial a full working exe file.  Once regestered you get access to any updates or additional files.

You actually create your own boot disk.  That can be a usb drive, stick cd/dvd etc.

see http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=29880 has the FAQ

Thats what I like about this programe so many options.

Got it for $24.50. Awesome software.

Now only if VMWare would have a sale like this and I could buy the latest Workstation edition.

Yeah it was a great deal. "Home 2009 has been knocked down even lower than $25, the final price is $24.50."

I nearly forked out the dosh.

I decided to let it pass and put the money towards a Windows Home Server.  We have 4 machines and a lappy and as this software is single licence it was to expensive in the end of the day.

I going to build a Home Server.

For others I found some free backup software that works really its called Backup4all.  (There is a pro version you can buy that does the works but Acronis would be better.)

see http://www.backup4all.com/download.php

I got got it for the Live CD component only, haven't checked out the other features yet. Easiest drive cloning software I have used yet, even does large HDD to small HDD with only a couple clicks (previously I was using gparted+clonezilla Live CDs to try and achieve that).
