Just got accepted for this feature so thought I would see if it new anything about genealogy research.

Early days yet but it does find records but don't know whether it can find anything I couldn't find by other means.

Anyway, I am looking forward to using it.

When did you apply? Did you do either of the steps to speed up approval (change all the Edge search settings, install the app on your phone)?

Interested how people are finding the "New Bing".

I am liking it as it comes back quickly with some pretty good stuff.

The other useful feature is the interactive nature of it, allowing additional info or queries. Bit spooky!!

I've been accepted for about a week now and it's great. :)

Thanks for the feedback.

No doubt it will get better with time as well.

So far it's been fine when I've used it, just need to break the habit of opening a new chrome tab and typing in and actually consciously going to bing instead.

It definitely feels a bit nerfed compared to chat gpt responses and what it was doing in the press previews before it went off the rails. I tried the exact question they asked it on Linus tech tips about fitting backpacks in a Tesla and originally it gave them good answers, but it just outright refused to answer me, gave me the dimensions of the bag and said it needed the internal capacity to figure out how many would fit despite giving me the information it needed, then it went off saying they are different things and eventually refused to answer any further questions, that was before I reached the thread limit.

Still it's impressive technology that will only improve further, I've definitely found some information for a system we use at work quickly that has been incredibly difficult to find through traditional searches, if I can find it at all.

I just got mine today also.

If you use Firefox (like me) there are extensions to enable Bing Chat like https://github.com/anaclumos/bing-chat-for-all-browsers#firefox

If you're using Chrome then you're actually better to use Edge especially on a Windows PC.
