hi when thrying to shrink my main hard drive on my laptop which is 260gb SATA with 130 GB free, i go into disc managment and try to shrink the volume and it says i can only shrink the voume by 800 mb any ideas.

Edit: I have been told to by a friend to use a non windows program to partion my drives, what should i use that is free and does a good job?

There will be a system file of some sort right at the end of your hdd. You can download UltimateDefrag Free and use that to analyse your Hdd to get the actual name of the file and see if UltimateDefrag can move it, if not, You can then google how to go about moving the file.
