Hi...

got an HP DV5 running Vista Premium...

I tried installing an update from HP and it froze. Rebooted; when I turned it back on there was a 2x2" white box on the upper left side of the screen. Cant resize it, move it or anything. Any ideas?

could it be another application i have installed recently?? WinRAR, ShipSim 08?

possibly try system restore to before the update... and/or safemode should help...

Cheers, that was the next option.

I uninstalled WinRAR and updated the graphics drivers etc... seemed to do the trick.
