I have another problem with Windows... (I'm getting very over Windows!)

I am running XP Proffesional Service Pack 3. I have been operating Internet Explorer 7 very succesfully on it with minimal problems...until...

I downloaded IE 8

IE 8 would not respond, it simply tried to open and then shut down again.

No error messages were produced, it just wouldn't start.

So...

I tried uninstalling it through Control Panel to revert back to IE 7

And then...

IE 7 would not work!

So I uninstalled IE 7 and have reverted back to IE 6.

IE 6 works fine.

I have tried re-installing IE 7 numerous times to no avail.

The problems with it are...

When I start IE 7 it will start but it's like it starts with no add ons or something.
There is only an address bar with a back and foward arrows etc.
There is no internet options icon in Control Panel
Also does not have a home page, just a blank screen
I can go to a web site from the address bar, but links from a web page do not work.

I have also tried a system restore to an earlier time thing and still it won't work!

Does anyone have any suggestions?
