is there a way that i can boot my windows 7 install iso from the harddrive of my computer? i tried using unetbootin to tell it to boot from a diferent partition, like u would with a usb drive, problem is ive only got 2 gig usb drives.. .. or is there a way that i can burn the iso and split it to cds or flash drives... oooor is there an easy way i can boot the iso from another networked computer..


ps.. when i tried using unetbootin it told me the old "bootmgr is missing" error

You can either burn the ISO to a DVD, or buy a 4GB USB key - you can get one for as low as $32 from Flashcards (or perhaps even less in some other places).

Not teaching anyone to suck-eggs or anything. But if you're trying to boot to the ISO file itself, it won't work. The ISO file holds an image of the files required to be on the install disk (or USB key/drive as Mauricio mentioned). I guess in effect the ISO file is a container to make it possible to transfer an entire disk easily in one download. So you'll need to burn the image onto a disk or to a USB key and then boot to the result. Don't just put the ISO file directly on a disk.
