Hi Everyone,

I have a domain setup with Windows 2008 and it have some clients and I have a machine under a workgroup. Now I trying to access shares from workgroup machine to domain client. It is popping up security window and asking for credentials. I have entered <machinename>\usename. It is failing to get access of that shares.

But from the workgroup machine to domain clients shares I'm getting access.

Please help me in this regards....

Thanks in Advance..

Prasad

Hi Prasad,

Sorry to ask the obvious, but you don't mention that you're entering a password as well? NT security requires you to have a username and password when accessing shares. I guess you are probably using a different username and password to connect to the domain from the workstation?

HTH, Leo
