Great to see home server still being brought up to speed.

Windows Home Server Power Pack 3 BETA – Includes enhancements for Windows 7-based computers

We are pleased to announce the Windows Home Server Power Pack 3 Beta which improves the Windows Home Server experience with Windows 7 and Windows Media Center by providing the following new features: Backup and restore of computers running Windows 7, Windows 7 Libraries integration, enhancements for Windows Media Center, and better support for netbook computers.

I for one will be waiting for this to come out of beta going by past experance, have to much to risk if it goes belly up.

WHS works ok for me on two RC 7100 builds.

What I really like on this is the ability to record Media Center TV on the WHS, and the WHS Console integrated to the Media Center experience...

Bring it on!

I was wondering about Windows 7 compatibility just a few days ago. It's good to see that MS is working on it :)

I dont really dont get that whole Windows 7 Libraries thing.  All the files I share are on the server.  New backup and recovery well it does that now on my 2 machines!

The media centre is getting upped I suppose for the rest of us not having a HP server.  I do wonder thoe we might have to start looking at updating the pc to some better hardware.  I find running TVersity causes a stutter once and a while, may need to look at some ram / graphics card etc but I think the limitions is more the OS and hope "VAL" or server 2008 is on the horizion which is a better fit with win 7.

I have installed the beta package now and my WHS still shows "Windows Home Server with Power Pack 2" even though all the clients are updated...

Strange.

No problems. Apparently the Beta will show up just the correct versions, not the label.

However I found that my Media Center shows only the TV Archive tile, not the Server Console tile. Strange...
