I previously posted about an iphone not syncing at all with exchange 2003 after a sbs migration, thats sorted now, well kind of after I applied sp2 for exchange. Everything except for the calendar not syncing. If i create an appointment on the iphone it syncs to outlook, however the outlook calendar will NOT sync at all to the iphone, everything else including contacts and email sync ok. Its not just one user its all the users on our sbs domain. I have spent countless hours trawling google for an answer without much success and feel as if im now wasting my time as im getting no where, not even apple support or experts-exchange is any help! I need this sorted and I know some people who read these forums know the answer, but whether they will share this information is another story, hence why i will offer $$ as this seems to be the only way to get people to cough up the answer. Sad really, but if anyone is interested in helping me out, please pm me.
Please try this tool with a valid exchange account in the domain: https://www.testexchangeconnectivity.com/ It will give details where the activesync process fails.
ok i created another user named "test" and tried to sync with an iphone, it didnt work at all! got an error saying the connection failed, so reverted back to previous username and it worked as normal but no calendar. I tried testexchangeconnectivity.com using the test account and got back the following error: "A Web Exception occured because an HTTP 401 - Unauthorized response was received from Unknown"
also an event id 3005 was left in the application log
"Unexpected Exchange mailbox Server error: Server: [servername.companydomain.local] User: [test@companydomain.co.nz] HTTP status code: [409]. Verify that the Exchange mailbox Server is working correctly."
so went on to try an exisitng account from one of the users using testexchangeconnectivity.com, surprisingly it works no problems as all! But this is another real problem I didnt realise existed, all exising users sync no problems except for calendar, but any new users we create dont sync at all and leave the above error messages! If for some reason the company decided to employ another person, and we set up an account for them on the sbs server they will NOT be able to sync their iphone.
I really need help here! I havent had a lot of experience with this sort of stuff and it would be much appreciated if someone could help.
Hi, have you created the test user and the other users with the SBS wizard and using the mobile user template? If not (they were created by ADUC), you have to assign the proper permissions to them
