I have a large exchange 2003 database, 35gb+ and offline defragging stays at 5%. Error check is fine. Any ideas?

Do you have enough free space on the drive? You'll need at least the size of the database, plus a bit more free. >40GB free should be safe for your DB size.

Also make sure you don't have any AV trying to scan the MDBDATA directory (or wherever your DB is located).

Yep, more than enough space. I will have a look at the AV but I doubt that's an issue. Thanks.

Have you tried using a third-party defragger? Sometimes they work better.
