Kia ora, and a Merry Christmas to all of Geekzone.

On the morning of the boxing day sales I am planning to purchase a new laptop.

I will have no need for my current one, which apart from not meeting my requirements spec-wise is in perfect condition.
So I would like to move all my files, movies, games to my portable hardrive. Delete everything else on the hard drive and reinstall windows etc.

It would be great if anyone here is not to busy and would like to talk me through the process. Their help would be much appreciated!

Once again, thank you!

And have a great Christmas :)

I did the same last week, but scored bonus points by selling the old m/c on Trademe Smile

I used Eraser to wipe the hard disc, after reinstalling windows.

This program finds the 'empty' space on your hard disc and carries out a secure wipe.

took about 15mins and was easy.
